AUDAY · LOCAL PRIVACY EDITION

Privacy Policy

Privacy for Auday Local Privacy Edition.

Last updated

01 · Scope and responsible developer

This Privacy Policy applies to Auday Local Privacy Edition for iPhone and Apple Watch, including its on-device features and optional connections to third-party services. It describes the information processed, the purposes of processing, the recipients and your choices.

The app is provided by GUO HANGJIANG, an individual developer (the “Developer”). For privacy questions or requests, contact baifu.guohj@gmail.com. Auday is the product name. This policy does not cover a separately offered future online service.

02 · Information processed on your devices

Auday processes recordings you start on your Apple Watch, recording times, Marks, transcripts, search indexes, remembered facts, AI results and Chat history to create and let you revisit your personal archive. Profile information and preferences you enter are stored locally and may help personalize the AI features you use.

Audio recording, transcription, embedding generation, semantic search and body-context calculations are performed on your devices. Auday does not operate a server that receives or stores your personal archive. The Developer cannot remotely browse it. The external processing described below is separate from these local functions.

03 · Health information and local interpretation

With Body data enabled and your permission, Auday reads heart rate, heart-rate variability (SDNN), resting heart rate, steps, sleep and workouts from Apple Health on your iPhone. Available records can come from your Watch or other sources saved in Health. Access is read-only: Auday does not write its stress interpretations to Apple Health or start a workout to collect additional heart measurements.

Auday processes the available readings on your iPhone to identify activity and body-state context. Its own algorithm compares suitable heart-rate and HRV observations with your personal history, accounts for activity and data freshness, and derives physiological stress estimates. For each measurement day, baseline calculations use suitable records from up to 14 preceding days, including history that predates installation when available. Recent sleep can provide broader day context; it is not a measurement of stress at the time of a conversation.

Health readings, local baselines and derived labels can be sensitive personal information. The purpose is to help you review conversations alongside your body and activity context, not to diagnose a condition or determine your emotions. Auday does not use Health data for advertising or marketing, or sell it to data brokers.

04 · Recording places and Apple services

With Location data enabled and location permission on your Watch, Auday collects available location observations during active recording to associate places with the recorded time. These observations include coordinates, time and positioning accuracy. Collection stops when recording stops; interruptions and system conditions can leave gaps. This feature does not provide a continuous or exact route record.

The iPhone groups observations locally into approximate place context. To obtain readable street or area names, it sends coordinates to Apple’s geocoding service. Tapping a place opens its stored location in Apple Maps. These Apple services involve external processing governed by Apple’s applicable privacy information. Place names and coordinates can reveal sensitive information about you.

05 · Optional context and your choices

Body data and Location data are optional and can be enabled separately in Body & location data. Recording, transcription and local search remain available without them. Enabled context is attached to subsequent transcripts and included when relevant records are used by the AI features you enable or request. This can include automatic reviews; it is not limited to questions you type in Chat.

Turning a context setting off stops new collection or attachment as applicable. It does not erase earlier context, remove it from future AI use of the associated records, or rewrite saved summaries, Highlights, remembered facts or conversations. Re-enabling resumes attachment going forward without filling the interval when the setting was off. System permissions can also be revoked. Changing Auday settings does not change or delete the underlying Apple Health records.

06 · Optional AI services

If you configure a provider and use or enable AI features, your iPhone sends the information needed for those features directly to your selected endpoint. Depending on the feature, this can include transcripts, questions, conversation history, profile information, remembered facts, Marks and attached health, activity or location context. Enabled automatic reviews can make these requests without a separate tap for each review. Original audio is not sent to the AI provider by these features.

The dedicated health and location context contains condensed body or activity labels, approximate place names, relevant time ranges and uncertainty information. It excludes raw heart-rate or HRV values, HealthKit sample identifiers, exact coordinates and complete location trails. This does not anonymize the request: transcripts, your questions, profile information or saved text can themselves contain health details, addresses or other identifying information.

Connection checks and model-list requests also contact the configured service. The service receives authentication information needed for your account, request content where applicable, and connection information such as your IP address. These requests do not pass through an Auday server. For a custom endpoint, its operator is the recipient.

The provider’s own terms, storage locations, retention and training practices apply. Auday does not control them or promise that every provider has zero retention or excludes training. Review the service and endpoint before using them, particularly for sensitive information or another person’s information.

07 · Other services and international processing

Apple handles App Store downloads, purchases and any system reporting enabled under its settings and policies. Auday does not receive your full payment-card details. The app does not include advertising or third-party analytics SDKs, and the Developer does not sell your personal archive or receive it for model training.

If you voluntarily contact support, the Developer receives the contact details, message and attachments you send in order to answer your request. Email and any external service you choose, such as X, process that communication under their own policies. Do not send API keys or private recordings unless they are necessary for a specific support request.

AI providers, Apple services and email services may process information outside your country or region, depending on the service and configuration. Direct routing and use of your own API key do not by themselves prevent international transfers. This policy is not a blanket consent to disclosure of sensitive information or a substitute for notices, consent or safeguards required by applicable law.

08 · Credentials and security

API credentials are stored in the iPhone’s device-only Keychain and used to authenticate with the service you configure. The app uses operating-system protections for local storage. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security. Protect access to your devices, choose trustworthy endpoints and keep your operating system up to date.

Use Delete AI Settings to remove the app’s saved AI configuration and credentials. Removing those settings does not delete your existing transcripts, generated results or Chat history, and cannot delete data already received by a provider.

09 · Storage, retention and deletion

Saved archive content remains on your devices until removed. Original audio follows your chosen retention settings; eligible older audio is removed only after successful transcription. Removing audio does not remove transcripts, summaries or other saved text. Removed audio can no longer be played back.

Local health-reading caches and derived context have a separate lifecycle from original audio. Removing audio does not remove attached body or place labels. Raw location observations are routinely pruned after seven days; historical place summaries and attached labels can remain. That pruning is not a deletion of historical place context.

The personal archive is excluded from iCloud and computer device backups. Auday has no cloud copy to restore if the app is deleted or a device is lost. Deleting the app removes its local app container; it does not remove copies on another device, in an export you made, or with a third party. Apple Health has its own storage, iCloud and sharing settings; excluding Auday’s archive from backup does not disable them. Keychain items are managed separately, so remove AI settings before deleting the app if you also want to remove saved credentials.

Support correspondence is kept only as needed to resolve the request, address a related dispute or meet applicable legal requirements, and is then deleted or anonymized. Third-party services control retention of information they receive under their own applicable terms.

10 · Your choices and rights

You can stop recording, change audio retention, disable automatic AI features, remove AI settings, and revoke optional health or location permissions. Withdrawing permission does not undo processing already carried out lawfully. Disabling a feature does not automatically erase its saved content.

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to information, access, copies, correction, deletion, withdrawal of consent, restriction, objection, portability or a complaint to a competent authority. Contact the email in Section 1 to make a request. Requests will be handled within the period required by applicable law, with any necessary and proportionate identity verification.

The Developer can respond regarding information actually held, such as support messages, but cannot remotely retrieve or erase an archive held only on your devices. Machine-generated transcripts cannot currently be edited in the app. An inaccurate remembered fact can be made Inactive for future AI use. For information held by your AI provider or another service, its own request process may also be needed.

11 · Children and other people’s information

Recording may capture information about other people. Their privacy rights still apply even when a recording is stored locally. Do not record, disclose or send information about another person to a service without the authorization required by applicable law.

Children’s information is subject to additional protections. Where parental or guardian consent is required, it must be obtained before the relevant processing; in mainland China, information about children under 14 is treated as sensitive personal information. Contact the Developer if you believe a child’s information has been sent to support without the necessary authorization.

12 · Changes to this policy

The date above identifies this version of the policy. Material changes will be explained through an appropriate notice, and additional consent will be obtained where required by law. A policy update does not turn prior use of the app into consent for a new processing purpose. Separately offered online services will have their own applicable privacy information.
